Journey to your highest potential.

Embracing health and well-being is a lifelong journey.

Reframing our mindset to accept joy and curiosity frees us to change our behavior, build healthier habits and improve our quality of life.

We believe that all Mountaineers deserve the opportunity to reach their greatest potential and to find meaning and purpose in their lives. We support our community along many paths to well-being through:

  • Inspiring Mountaineers. Enhancing individual and collective well-being by providing opportunities to embrace balance.

  • Nurturing Community. Minding our well-being by cultivating a safe and healthy environment for the entire WVU community.

  • Going First, Together. Working toward a better West Virginia by coming together and pursuing change for the good of all.

Find Your Well-being

Well-being is multi-dimensional and our WVU Well-being Wheel showcases the areas of well-being that play an integral role in overall health and happiness. Through collaborations and innovations, we are working to support the whole-person wellbeing of our faculty, staff, and students at West Virginia University.

  • Physical: Caring for your body through regular movement and balanced nutrition and sleep.

  • Community: Feeling connected, engaged and safe in your community.

  • Financial: Learning to effectively manage money and seek out resources to support financial goals.

  • Social: Building strong relationships, connections and support systems with others, including coworkers and students.

  • Purposeful: Liking what you do and being motivated to expand your sense of purpose and meaning.

  • Emotional: Recognizing, experiencing and managing a range of emotions effectively to meet the demands of everyday life and create meaningful relationships.
